Instagram is where Kenyans discover products — but most sales die between 'interested' and 'paid'. Every extra step — DM, wait for a reply, get your number, open M-PESA, send money, screenshot, send proof — is a chance for the buyer to drop off. Sellers who convert best share one thing: their bio link goes straight to a page where you can browse, pick, and pay without a single DM.
The link-in-bio funnel
- Post a product with a caption ending in 'link in bio'.
- Customer taps your Shops link → lands on your storefront with prices and photos.
- They pick a size/colour, check out, and get an M-PESA STK push instantly.
- You get an order notification — no DMs, no screenshots, no 'did you receive?'.
Captions that convert
A good selling caption does three things: creates desire, answers the first objection, and gives a clear instruction. 'Sizes 8–18, ships from Nairobi in 2 days, pay on this link' beats 'cute dress 😍' every time.
Share single products, not just your shop
Every product on your shop has its own link. When someone comments 'price?' on a specific item, reply with that product's link — they land on the exact item, not a homepage where they have to hunt for it.
Reels and Stories
Short Reels showing the product being worn/used outperform static photos. In Stories, use the link sticker to your product page — it's the only clickable link Instagram gives you natively.
Keep the DM for support, not checkout
Customers will still DM. Answer fast, but always point them to the link to pay. A structured order in your dashboard — with the item, size, and payment confirmed — is worth more than ten 'still interested?' chats.
