Many Kenyan sellers start with just a phone. Shops in Kenya is mobile-first — you can sign up, add products, and process orders entirely from your smartphone. Here's the process.
1. Sign up on your phone
Go to shops.co.ke/signup on your browser (Chrome or Safari). The form is designed for mobile — big touch targets, no tiny inputs. Register with your email or phone number.
2. Add products with your phone camera
Tap 'Add product', use your phone camera to shoot a photo (shoot near a window for good light), enter the price in KSh, and write a short description. No desktop needed.
3. Set up payments from your phone
In Dashboard → Payments, add your Till, PayBill, or bank details. You can also connect M-PESA via Daraja for automatic STK push — all from mobile settings.
4. Manage orders on the go
The dashboard is mobile-responsive. View new orders, mark items as shipped, send tracking, and respond to customer messages — all from your phone. You get SMS or WhatsApp notifications for every order.
5. Share from WhatsApp
Copy your shop link from the dashboard and paste it in your WhatsApp status, Instagram bio, or TikTok. Every product also has its own link for direct sharing.
Tips for phone-only sellers
- Use grid layouts — arrange products in a clean 2x2 grid before shooting.
- Natural light beats flash — shoot near a window or outdoors.
- Keep descriptions short but clear — material, size, delivery time.
