Buyers can't touch your product — your photo does that job. The good news: Kenyan daylight plus any recent smartphone is genuinely enough.
The KSh 0 setup
- Shoot near a window or door — indirect daylight, never direct sun.
- Backdrop: a plain bedsheet, kanga, or large paper. Iron it. Creases read as 'unprofessional'.
- Turn off your camera flash — it flattens everything.
- Clean your lens. Seriously — it's the #1 cause of dull photos.
What to shoot
- Front view, clean and centred — this is your main image.
- A detail shot: fabric texture, stitching, ingredients, packaging.
- A scale shot: the item held, worn, or next to a familiar object.
- A 'real life' shot: on a person, on a table, in use.
Upload the first four
Your Shops product pages support multiple images — upload at least three. The order matters: clearest first. Images are auto-compressed and resized, so pages stay fast on 4G.
Common mistakes
- Screenshots of other people's photos — kills trust and possibly illegal.
- Cluttered backgrounds competing with the product.
- No price in the listing — always pair good photos with the actual price.
